Hi Peter,
I noticed Richard mentioned his wife is allergic to wool. My spouse and I are as well. It seems that manufacturers aren't required to list wool on the tag if wool content is below 5%. We have been through 5 mattresses this year and lost money to restocking fees when returning them.
How can we be sure there is truly no wool in a mattress?
We are currently trialing a Serta Soothe + 2.0 plush latex hybrid and having itchy face and irritated eyes. I am unsure if its due to this mattress(supposedly no wool) or residual particles in the room left over from the previous mattress despite thourough cleaning. Can you point me to a resource that lists all the contents of this mattress?
Thanks, Katie
Hi Katie,
Many of today’s mattresses contain wool.
And, I’ve noticed that many mattresses listed for sale on the internet do not contain a list of their specifications.
An organic cotton, zipper on, waterproof mattress encasement should solve your problem, which will keep any wool in your mattress from affecting you.
Here’s a link to one that we carry.
Sleep & Beyond Organic Waterproof Mattress Encasement
Thanks, Pete - TME
