Hi Pete,
I am a 21 year old female, about 90 pounds, and have a long term boyfriend (about 150 lbs) who sleeps with me every night.
I also have mild sclerosis and irritated back nerves/back pain.
I’m looking into getting a new queen sized mattress, but have no idea where to start. All the mattresses I’ve had, have not worn well.
How can I tell what will be comfortable in the long run on my back?
Are there any specific mattresses that seem suited to my needs?
Thanks, Rita
Hi Rita,
Your lack of body weight mitigates in your favor, in terms of expense.
A pocketed coil mattress that’s upholstered with soft latex it your best choice. The PlushBeds Luxury Bliss Mattress in Medium will work for you, rather nicely.
The soft, pure, organic and hypoallergenic latex upholstery is extremely comfortable without being too soft…creating the feeling that you’re floating. The individually pocketed coils provide firm, contouring support that maintains the natural alignment of the spine….No More Back Pain.
Due to the overall quality, this mattress will remain like new for many years. You can expect decades of supportive, comfortable sleep.
This mattress is, currently, On Sale and comes with a 100 Night Trial.

You never want to put a new mattress on an old foundation.
Doing so will void the warranty of any mattress.
If you need a new boxspring/foundation, I recommend the Magniflex KD Foundation, which comes in your choice of height, 5” or 8”, and in your choice of color…black, brown or gray.
They’re very strong and assemble easily with no tools needed.
They are upholstered foundations, a bit dressy, but reasonably priced.

Also recommended is a waterproof mattress protector, which prevents perspiration from seeping into the upholstery materials.
Keeping your mattress clean and dry and will enhance the longevity of your mattress and keep it odor free.
The Sleep & Beyond Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector is my recommendation…the one we use at home.
It sleeps cool and works well.
