There most certainly is!
The memory foam upholstery consists of 61 different chemicals.
Some of those chemicals are highly toxic.
The chemical gasses are trapped in the cellular structure.
Your body weight causes the cells to break open, releasing those gasses into the air. The chemical smell is more than just unpleasant.
Those gasses attack your respiratory system, causing the symptoms that you’re experiencing.

Hi Nathalie,
Since every living breathing being in your home is affected by it, the best thing is to send it back for a mattress that has no memory foam in it. If that’s not possible, do what you can to break open all of the cells in that foam and air out the mattress…and the bedroom.
Putting weight on every inch of the mattress will achieve that.
But that’s not the end of the story.
Memory foam is a temperature sensitive material that softens as is warms from your body’s heat. At first, it feels good.
But, memory foam isn’t very resilient. In a relatively short time, your body will begin to sink too far, throwing off the natural alignment of your body and spine, which usually results in back pain.
So, trading that mattress for one without memory foam is still your best option.

Wow, Pete! I had no idea!
We never had a problem with our old Beautyrest, which is why we bought this one when the old mattress wore out. What changed?
I believe I can return this mattress. If I can return it for a refund, what mattress do you have that you would recommend for a couple of plus size people?

All of the name brand mattresses have been sold.
The new owners changed their upholstery to the same memory foam that’s in your mattress.
Memory foam insures that their customers will need to replace their mattress much more frequently than in previous times.
Their profits have soared, as a result.
Their focus in all about profit and no longer about quality, as it had been with the original owners.
Since they hype memory foam as the best thing since sliced bread, most consumers are unaware…unless they stumbled across my blog and others like it.
Sealy and S&F were sold in 2013
Simmons and Serta sold in 2016
Nothing that any of them make today are worth buying.
My wife and I are large people, each weighing more than 200 lbs.
Our mattress is more than 10 years old and is still in great condition.
Needless to say, it has no memory foam.
The individually pocketed coils is the highest coil count available and, the primary upholstery is all natural Talalay Latex with a little plant based polyurethane. No Off Gassing.
So, that mattress is what I’d recommend for the two of you.
