Hi Pete,
I recently purchased a Sealy Posturpedic mattress from a local store.
It was supposed to be Firm. It came as a Plush and I sink into one side.
The store wants to charge me a $100 restock fee and says I can pick out a mattress of equal or greater value.
They have some other brands.
They have a half firm/half plush mattress at the same price, but it comes with no warranty.
I need firm due to back problems.
How bad are the risks in getting a mattress with no warranty?
Thanks, Keith
Hi Keith,
I’m sorry, but you need to be scolded about all this.
You ordered a firm and were delivered a plush?!
Now, they want to charge you to correct their mistake?!…which, in fact, was no mistake but done purposefully.
And you're ok with that bait and switch business practice?!
The restocking fee should tell you that they are ok with returning a used mattress to stock and reselling it as new.
That’s what you got…a used mattress…which it why it sags on one side.
Send it back and demand a refund.
If they refuse, call the BBB, your state’s department of consumer affairs and your state's attorney general's office.
You have got to be kidding me...being willing to roll over for one of the most common scams in the business!!!
