A Topper for an Old Stearns and Foster Mattress.

Hi Pete,

We purchased a Stearns and Foster Camdenhurst Mattress set, some years ago. 
It is too firm for me and just ok for my husband.  
We were wondering, would a soft mattress topper give us the extra comfort we need?
Does the latex sleep cool?  
We are both side and back sleepers.
I have hot flashes and need some relief.  I'm also interested in a mattress cover.

Hi Debbie,
The Camdenhurst was a lower-end S&F mattress.
Since there was less upholstery with the same strong support system, they outlasted the higher-end models.
I'm not surprised that you still have it, after so many years.
A mattress topper will do more than provide a wonderful sleeping surface.
It will absorb all of your body weight, which preserves the mattress.
 
Latex doesn’t sleep hot. 
Only memory foam sleeps hot, absorbing your body's heat and reflecting that heat back to you.
However, nothing will prevent you from sleeping hot if you are a hot sleeper, or having hot flashes.
