Can a one-sided mattress really be flipped?

The salesman at a local store said no.

I read in one of your blog posts that you can flip a one-sided mattress over.

Can that be done with my Stearns and Foster Mattress?

The post said it might make the mattress feel firmer.

Hi Tom,

Yes. It's a trick that the mattress industry doesn't like revealed.

It's a way to extend the life of a mattress that’s nearing its end...usually resulting in another few years of use.

The underside is considerably firmer, as you'll bring the support part of the mattress to the surface.

For many, it's too firm...which is easily overcome by adding a mattress topper.
