Sealy Mattress at a Hilton Garden Inn.

Hi Pete,

I took this photo from a Sealy Mattress at a Hilton Garden Inn (please see label).

However, after reading your blog regarding Tempur-Pedic acquiring Sealy, I’m wondering if:

  1. Will it last or should I just get something else?
  2. This mattress is available?

We currently sleep on a Stearns & Foster Tannahill Plush Firm (no pillow top) that we bought in 2011.

It’s time for a replacement. Please recommend a replacement considering the facts below.

  1. We do not like memory foam or pillow top mattresses.
  2. We have platform bed that supports the mattress on wood slats (We can change this, but whatever we buy or build needs to be low to the ground.
  3. I am 170 lbs and a stomach sleeper, my husband is 210 lbs and a side/back sleeper.
  4. If possible, we would like to NOT have a very thick mattress since our headboard is fairly low.

Thank you in advance for your guidance. I look forward to your suggestion.

Regards, Rosa

Hi Rosa,
You need to be careful.
The specifications on that photo are perfectly fine, but that mattress was made years ago.
Any newly made mattress, that hotel is selling today, will have different specifications…upholstered with memory foam instead of polyurethane.
The mattresses that we found at the industry trade shows, that are as good or better than the older S&F are:
The Natura of Canada Greenspring.
That line, shown here:

Of them, the ultra plush model is the most comfortable…and not too soft.
It’s what my wife and I have at home.
Delivery is Free
Thanks, Pete
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of any mattress, keeping it clean and dry.
