No Luck Replacing a 15 year old Serta Mattress.

Hey, Pete.

After having a queen 15 year old Serta firm mattress, we wanted to upgrade to a king size.
Because of some back pain and hip and shoulder discomfort I thought maybe we should go softer.
We tried the Casper 2020 version, but I hated it.
It seemed way too soft and I had to sleep with a pillow under my calves.
Then we tried the Dream Cloud Mattress, and after a year it seems to be sinking in.
Now this Dream Cloud is not terribly uncomfortable, but I worry that it won’t last.
I’m looking for a mattress that will last but still has a slightly softer feel that the firm of the Serta.
I have to say, I’m so worried about getting a mattress that’s too soft and then being stuck with it.
For this reason, we’ve bought online with a trial period but still no luck.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Nicole
Hi Nicole,
You, essentially, have stepped out of a time warp…from a time when mattresses were well made to a time when they aren’t.
You didn’t get, or need, a comfort guarantee with your old Serta.
That all started when mattresses became upholstered with memory foam.
The comfort guarantee is the hook needed to sell a poor quality product.
The key to buying a quality mattress is to buy one with no memory foam in it.
That’s not easy, these days, as most are upholstered with memory foam.
Here’s a link to the Wolf Jessica Luxury Firm Mattress, which will most closely mimic the feel, quality and longevity of your old Serta....and be slightly softer.

Shipping is free
Thanks, Pete
You Should Know
Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
