Hi Pete,
I have a Sealy Reflexion Island Orchard Latex Mattress that is probably about 15 years old.
I’m waking up with back and hip pain and was considering replacing the mattress.
A couple of questions:
Is a proper latex topper a possibility to solve the problems? Is a new mattress required?
If the latter, what mattress would you suggest?
I am 5 ft 1 in and 150 lbs and like a warm bed.
Thanks, Marie
Hi Marie,
Adding a topper to the top of your mattress won’t help your back.
Adding a topper to the flip side of the mattress might be a solution.
The flip side of the mattress is firmer latex, and might be all you need to relieve your back pain.
So, flip your mattress over and use whatever you have handy to make it more comfortable…like a comforter.
If you’re back feels ok in a couple of days, then you can add a latex topper to that.

If your back is still hurting, it’s a new mattress you’ll be needing.
Since you’re 15 years older, as well, I recommend the Brolynn Old Fashioned Two Sided Mattress in Plush.
The individually pocketed coils provide the ideal support to relieve chronic back pain.

Either way, UPS/FedEx shipping is free
Thanks, Pete

Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
