I decided to buy a new mattress, only because I saw an ad that said if my mattress was more than 8 years old, it needed to be replaced. I was sleeping just fine on that old mattress and wish I had never gotten rid of it.

Hi Marty,
As you can now imagine, it's all about the advertising.
Memory foam does everything they claim it will do....except the part about doing that job for many years.
That part of the advertising is a lie. Both, "many" and "years" is the big lie about memory foam.
Then, there's the part they don't tell you.
Memory foam creates a health hazard for every living being in your home, (except to the fish), as it off gasses the toxic chemicals from which memory foam is made...61 chemicals in all, with Formaldehyde and Benzene being among the worst, but not the only toxic chemicals.
Memory foam is, simply, the worst upholstery material ever invented.
It was specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
And, whatever your particular physical ailment happens to be, memory foam will only make it worse.
Not a good business model, one would think!
Now that all of the once trusted name brands have been sold to investors, profits and not quality is job 1.
Advertising drives the industry and the American consumer tends to believe everything they hear.
(You are not alone in this).
Unfortunately, memory foam is used in most of today's mattresses.
As a result, the industry is experiencing a boon because of it, and has created a nightmare for the consumers.
In today's economy, few people can afford to continually waste money on bad mattresses.
And every mattress that's uses memory foam in the comfort layers is, indeed, a bad mattress.
The extent to which memory foam is used, is so pervasive, that it's difficult to find mattresses without memory foam, even at the industry trade shows, where all of the mattresses that are available are on display.
Fortunately, we were able to find some. There were very few.
The best type of support to relieve chronic back pain is an individually pocketed coil.
Many of today's mattresses use this coil system, but the benefits are negated by the memory foam upholstery.
The trick is in finding that type of mattress, without any memory foam it.
Once found, your back pain is relieved...and for many years to come...without the BS.
Almost all of the mattresses we carry have that coil system, and NONE of them have any memory foam in them.

We've had ours for more than 7.5 years and it is still in like new condition.
