Hi Pete,
My family and friends knew I needed a new mattress, so they all chipped in and gave me money for Christmas.
I was thrilled at the idea of starting the new year off on a new mattress.
Since early January, I've been nothing but disappointed with each of the 3 mattresses I've been through.
I went to a local store that offered a comfort guarantee, assuring me that I couldn't make a mistake.
So, why can't I find a decent quality mattress?
So far, they have created nothing but problems for me.
My back hurts. My hip hurts. I sweat. I sink in. I can't change sleeping positions without a lot of effort.
After this 3rd mattress produced the same problems as the last two, I did what I should have done all along.
I got on my computer and started doing some research, which is where I found you.
I've spent the best part of the last 2 days reading your blog posts.
The information you provide has educated me as to why these mattresses are so bad.
The problem is that the store will not give me a refund. Nor will they give me another exchange.
Not only have I wasted the money from the initial purchase, but also the delivery and restocking fees I've paid for each of the two exchanges.
The long and short of all this, is that I don't have any money left.
What do I do now?
Hoping you can help, Alyssa
Hi Alyssa,
Since you've been doing some reading, you must already know that it's the memory foam on top of your mattresses that has caused all of your problems. It's also the reason why these comfort guarantees are nothing more than a scam...luring you into a false sense of security.
Most retail mattress stores are a sea of mattresses, all upholstered with memory foam.
The end result is, you can do nothing but make a mistake.
All THIS is why you have not found a decent quality mattress.
Since you don't have any more money left to fix the problem, there's little point in me trying to sell you a quality mattress that has no memory foam in it. We specialize in mattresses with NO Memory Foam in them.
Fortunately, the mattress you have has memory foam only on the top.
Flip your one-sided mattress over. The memory foam will be on the bottom where it cannot react to your body heat. Only memory foam is temperature sensitive.
Most of your complaints will disappear.
The flip side of your mattress will be considerably firmer than the top side.
So, add what you might have handy to soften it...like a comforter.
Your situation will improve dramatically.
This will be all you need to do for a decent night's sleep over the next several months.
It is NOT a years long solution. So, start saving your money for a new mattress next Christmas.
Thanks, Pete
