Hi Roxanne,
Since the motion transfer reduction of the individually pocketed coil unit isn't working anymore, It's a safe bet that a topper added to your 30 year old mattress needs to be replaced.
Memory foam is worthless, as you have discovered.
Memory foam is a temperature sensitive material that softens as it warms from your body heat.
You end up sinking through it, as if it weren't even there...a total waste of money.
What does work, is all natural latex.
Two inches of soft Talalay latex will transform a firm mattress into something much more comfortable.
