We are on our 3rd Sealy mattress in 2 years.

Hi Pete,

We are on our 3rd Sealy mattress in 2 years.
They all end up with deep body impressions, which are very uncomfortable.
I'm considering a Serta iSeries, as I will never buy another Sealy.
We use an ergonomic adjustable bed base.
I'm 5' 9" and weigh 350 lbs.
My wife is 5' 8" and weighs 160 lbs.
I like the feel of that Serta mattress.
Do you think it will work for us?
Thanks, Shawn

Hi Shawn,
The problem you've had is less about the brand and more about the upholstery material they use.
They use memory foam, which doesn't wear well under average body weight...let alone 350 lbs.
All of the name brands have been sold to investors.
All of the name brands are upholstering their mattresses with memory foam.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
The point is to sell more mattresses, more frequently, to the same people...all the while advertising memory foam as good.
Memory foam is, in fact, thee worst upholstery material ever invented.
So, I can assure you that any Serta, Simmons, Sealy, Stearns and Foster mattress you buy will end up the same.
In short, buying that Serta is an exercise in repeating your mistake....yet again.

Your adjustable bed base isn't helping your situation.
As soon as you crank up the head of the bed, the bulk of your body weight shifts to a single spot in the mattress,
the area just under your butt. It's, simply, too much for any mattress to handle.

If you have that adjustable bed to help you breathe, I suggest leaving the bed flat and tilting the entire base by putting bed risers under the rear wheels, which you can find on Amazon.

A mattress that is much stronger than any of the name brands and contains NO Memory Foam is needed.
I recommend the Natura of Canada Greenspring in firm, which uses double tempered steel coils and upholstered with Natural Talalay Latex.
Latex is and has been the best, most resilient upholstery material for the last 100 years...in stark contrast to memory foam.
Here is a link to that line of mattresses:

Given your size, for the sake of minimizing your expense in the years to come, I suggest getting the Firm model.
Add to that, a separate latex topper for surface comfort.
Doing it this way will allow you to replace the topper from time to time, without having to replace the mattress.
The latex topper will absorb much of your body weight
This will prevent the premature wear to the mattress that 350 lbs. causes.
Here is a link to the Suite Sleep Organic Latex Toppers in 2" Medium Soft.

The mattress comes with white glove delivery, which include set-up and removal of all packaging materials.
The latex topper arrives via FedEx.
Delivery is free and there's no sales tax.

Thanks, Pete

VERY IMPORTANT:
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will increase its longevity.
We recommend our Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector.
