Hi Pete,
I'm very upset.
My wife and I purchased a memory foam mattress less than a year ago. (not from you).
It began becoming uncomfortable a few months in. Now, it has deep impressions in it.
So, we call the store, where we bought it, and they sent someone out to inspect it.
The impressions are, in fact, deep enough to get an exchange.
But, they tell me that the warranty is void, due to stains on the mattress.
This mattress does sleep hot, which makes me sweat. The stains on the mattress are perspiration stains.
Now, I'm stuck with a worthless mattress.
Do I have any recourse, either with the factory that made it, or legally?
Thanks, Jason
Hi Jason,
The "Stain Cause" is written in stone, by every mattress manufacturer.
The reason is because if the upholstery materials get wet, they lose their resiliency much more quickly.
Most folks tend to not worry about this, thinking that if they don't eat or drink in bed, there should be no worries.
They don't think about perspiration, which is the most common reason why a mattress gets a stain.
I doubt, very much, that you will prevail with the factory or in the legal arena.
This is the main reason why we recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Thanks, Pete
VERY IMPORTANT:
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will increase its longevity.
We recommend our Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector.
