We are an elderly couple, in our 70s.
He is a big man, 6’2", 260 lbs, a back sleeper, primarily. Movement disturbs and wakes him up.
I'm 5’4", 160 lbs, a side/fetal position sleeper. I sleep soundly, so movement is not a problem.
We have always slept on a king-size bed.
I'm looking for a high quality mattress that will last us until the end.
I've read on your blog, that most mattresses don't last long, due to memory foam.
Our mattress is old and doesn't have memory foam, and I don't want a mattress with memory foam in it.
Which of your mattresses, would you recommend?
Thanks, Miriam
Hi Miriam,
My recommendation is for The Natura of Canada Greenspring Ultra Plush.
Shown here:
This mattress contains the highest quality components....providing you with a very long lasting mattress.
A very high coil count. The individually pocketed coils maintain the natural alignment of the spine.
Also, this coil system greatly reduces motion transfer, so he won't be easily disturbed.
Very strong coils, made of double tempered steel, provide the durability needed for a big man.
There are 2, 1” layers of natural, plant based poly foam.
The firm inch supports 3” of Plush Natural Talalay Latex.
The soft layer of poly is quilted in the cover.
There is NO Memory Foam in this mattress!
Latex is and has always been thee best upholstery material, anywhere on the planet, for the last 100 years.
This mattress is available with a matching foundation.
I recommend using the low profile 5” foundation, since the mattress is 13.5” thick.
This mattress comes with white glove delivery, including set up in your bedroom and all packaging materials.
