If there is a mattress in your area, like the one I’ll be recommending, a google search will produce that information.
Unfortunately, most stores are a sea of mattresses upholstered with memory foam.
All of the major brands and many of the off brands have turned to profits over quality.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing...and not under the terms of the warranty.
The result, is selling more mattresses more frequently to the same people.
Memory foam has created a boon for the industry and a nightmare for the consumer.
Having been in this industry for more than fifty years, and happy in what had been a legitimate industry for so very long, I couldn’t go along with the far reaching changes that have taken place...especially over the last decade.
Memory foam was introduced a little over 20 years ago, and has proven to be the absolute worst upholstery material ever invented.
It wears quickly, sleeps hot, increases body aches and pains due to causing the misalignment of the spine.
And, as if that weren’t bad enough, it off gasses the toxic chemicals from which memory foam is made.
It’s a lousy quality product and a health hazard.
If you must try a mattress before you buy, then all you need to remember is to not buy any mattress upholstered with memory foam.
We had been a Sealy/S&F dealer for many years, prior to those brands being purchased by Tempurpedic.
Stearns and Foster had been considered “The Cadillac of the Industry” for many decades.
