Sealy Mattress, purchased in January, is Breaking Down.

Hi Pete,
I have a twin bed and had purchased a Sealy mattress in January of this year.
Just last month, I purchased a Sleepy's box spring foundation.
The mattress started "breaking down" within a few months of purchase. It's sagging in the middle.
I thought the box springs (not a solid foundation) would help but it didn't.
Solid foundations are out of the question.
I'd like to know what mattress you would recommend for a 200 pound 66 year old woman.
The most I could pay would be $500.
I thank you for your time.
Sincerely, Ruth
Hi Ruth,
You have gotten ahold of some bad information.
A solid foundation isn’t any better, worse, or different from a Sealy Boxspring.
Foundations are usually made of wood.
The box spring is wood and metal.
Neither provides any degree of flex.

The problem was the mattress all along.
More specifically, the memory foam upholstery material in the mattress.
Since Tempurpedic bought Sealy, you can’t buy a good quality Sealy mattress.
They are, all, junk.

So, you can use whichever box spring or foundation you have.
The Wolf Old Fashioned Two-Sided Mattress is at your price point and much better made than anything Sealy makes today.
Here is the link.

I recommend the Plush choice of comfort for you.

UPS shipping is free and there’s no sales tax.

We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.

Thanks, Pete
