Sleeping on an Old Simmons Beautyrest Exquiste II Mattress.

Hi Pete,
I am 73 years old, average size, sleeping on an old Simmons Beautyrest Exquiste II mattress and box springs.
I don’t know how old it is….guessing at least 10 years old?
I have lower back problems and put a 3 inch topper on it 3 years ago.
What should I replace it with?
Thanks, Ray

Hi Ray,
Since you bought your Beautyrest, Simmons was sold and the investors, who bought it, are now using memory foam.
Your mattress has no memory foam in it, which is why it lasted as long as it has.
You'd be lucky to get a year or two from a Beautyrest made today, due to the memory foam upholstery.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing...creating a boon for the manufacturer and a nightmare for the consumer.

Hear is a link to an Old Fashion Two Sided Mattress, using an individually pocketed coil system, like that used by Simmons.
The differences are: the coils are stronger and there is NO Memory Foam in this mattress.
Here is a link to that mattress...The Wolf Brolynn:

Shipping is free and there's no sales tax.

We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.

Thanks, Pete
