King Size Mattress Recommendation.

Hi Pete,
We are finally almost ready to get a new King mattress. 
After your great advice, previously, we would like your recommendation. 
Here’s the info you may need to make suggestions:

We are in mid-60s, weights are 160 and 185 pounds. 
I’m 5ft.4" and my husband is 6ft. 3". 
He’s had some shoulder surgery in the past, but uses your latex pillows that you suggested and that helps.
No other joint issues. We use your topper.
We would prefer a bed that minimizes motion. 
He is a restless, active sleeper sometimes, and I sometimes get up during the night.
I sleep on my side or stomach. my husband sleeps on his side.

We plan on using a platform bed frame like ones from Scandinavian design stores.
If we can’t find one, could you quote us a price on your Basic Black Platform bed base? 
(We may use that if it takes awhile for a frame to be delivered).

We will want a topper.
Question: how can we determine if a king size mattress will fit up the stairs and into our bedroom? 
We have a queen now. I know some people get two twins extra long for this reason. 
Not sure if we need to or not.

Hi Maureen,
A mattress using an individually pocketed coil system will give you the greatest degree of motion reduction...and maintain the natural alignment of your spine.

Most mattresses are flexible enough to get up a staircase without damage.

Which mattress I recommend would depend on the type of delivery you require.
If you need a white glove delivery, (brought in and set up),

However, we have a very good mattress that is shrink wrapped, boxed and sent via UPS.
So, if you physically able to accept that kind of delivery, which will require you to carry the box upstairs, where you would unpack the mattress, you can save some money.

The mattress is better made than a Simmons Beautyrest...using a stronger coil, and upholstered with latex....containing no memory foam.
This saves you the additional cost of the latex topper.
