Replacing a Sealy Posturepedic Mattress from a Decade Ago.

We spoke over a decade ago when I was looking to upgrade to a King mattress. 
You steered us towards the Sealy Posturepedic Settlers Way Plush Euro Pillowtop. 
Well, it's been a great bed but it's time to replace it. 
Our bed, prior to this, which is still  being used in our guestroom, is a Beautyrest World Class Felicity Pillowtop. 
We still love it and think might have a slight edge over the Sealy. 
What would you recommend in today's myriad of brands and names?

I’m so pleased that you remembered me.
Much has changed over these past 10 years.
All of the name brands have been sold to investors.
They are upholstering their mattresses with memory foam for the purpose of causing their mattresses to need frequent replacing....selling more mattresses more frequently to the same people.
Today, they are all about profit and not at all about quality.
Both of your mattresses have no memory foam in them...which is why they held up for so long.

The coils in your Beautyrest are individually pocketed, which do a better job of providing contouring support, which maintains the natural alignment of your spine.
The coils in your Sealy Posturpedic are tied together.

Before recommending a mattress for you, it’s important to get some personal information.
What are the sizes of the people using the mattress?
Are there any physical ailments that need to be addressed?

No physical ailments, my husband is 6', slim build, I'm 5' 4" and could lose 40 pounds :-). He's 52, I'm 48.

Hi Monica,
When the name brands went bad, we went shopping at the industry trade shows for high quality alternatives.
I have a couple of lines that use a pocketed coil system, upholstered with latex.
Latex is and has been the best upholstery material for the last 100 years.
Natural Latex has made a dramatic showing in the face of the poor quality and toxic memory foam used in so many of today’s mattresses.

The best of what we carry is what my wife and I sleep on at home.

The coil count isn’t as high and there’s a little less latex.

But these coils are stronger, made of double tempered steel.
The steel Simmons Beautyrest coils is raw steel...not tempered at all.
And, the latex upholstery is more comfortable and more durable than any other type of foams...including the that used in your current mattresses.
