Hi Lee,
The latex topper goes directly on the mattress.
It's completely finished in a very nice fabric on top.
The fabric on the underside is non-skid. It grips the surface of the mattress and never
moves...no sliding, no bunching, no re-positioning.
Cover both, the topper and mattress, with a mattress protector and linens...and you're good to go.
It's totally maintenance free.
