Back and Shoulder Pain from a Too Firm Tempurpedic Mattress.

Hi Pete,
I am in the market for a new King Mattress and need some guidance. 
My fiancé and I are getting married in May. 
He currently has a Tempurpedic and I have an older King Mattress..not sure what kind. 
He has the hardest type of Tempurpedic, and has been having back problems, and finding it hard to sleep on his bed. 
I also don’t love the Tempurpedic, as it hurts my shoulders if I lay on my side for a long time. He reports the same thing. 
Do you have any recommendations for better mattresses, which provide support, but are not as hard. 
His back pains are primarily lower back, but some shoulder pain too. 
He also wants to know if anything can be done to salvage his 3 year old Tempurpedic mattress, as it was rather expensive. 
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sharri,
You may not need a new mattress, which should come as good news when you consider the expense of a wedding.
If all that wrong with your fiance's mattress, is that it's merely too firm, it's easily fixed to be much more comfortable.
Adding a 2" or 3" Plush Latex Mattress Topper will relieve the pressure points and pain, and you'll have a good night's sleep.
