Wolf Two Sided vs. Natura of Canada Greenspring Mattresses.

Hello Pete,
I've learned quite a lot of information from your website - thank you for sharing your knowledge.
My wife and I are looking to replace our mattress.  We currently sleep on a king size Sealy with the dreaded memory foam within it.
We both prefer fairly firm mattresses.  For reference, I am 6'3" and 195 pounds, while my wife is 5'7" and about 125 pounds.
It seems as though the Wolf two sided mattresses, that are flippable, seems like a very good value.
What do you see as potential downsides or negatives about purchasing that mattress?
Also, I notice that you recommend the Natura of Canada Greenspring series of latex mattresses.
Is there a rule of thumb to gauge firmness across the different types (firm, luxury firm, plush, and ultra plush)?
Thank you, Mike

Hi Mike,
The Wolf Two Sided mattresses are, what I call, “The best for the least”.
They are an excellent choice for those on a budget.
The coil count is decent. The steel is tempered. And there’s no memory foam.
The poly foam is what had been used as the primary upholstery material used by this industry from the early 70s until recently when memory foam took over.
The poly foam is plant based, (not the usual petrochemical based).
Natural fibers are use as the flame retardant, instead of the chemical based stuff used in most mattresses.
It comes with a 10 year warranty and will likely last about that long.
Frequent rotating will cause a mattress to wear more evenly, which helps a mattress to remain comfortable longer.

The Natura of Canada Greenspring is among the best on the market.
They have a very high coil count. The steel is double tempered.
The primary upholstery is natural Talalay Latex.
The poly foam in the quilt and support layer, is also plant based.
Wool is used as the flame retardant.
Due to the quality of the components being so high, they all feel firmer than they sound.
Even the Ultra Plush model isn’t too soft by anyone’s standards.
We have the Ultra Plush at home. We are, each, in the 225 lb. range.
Our mattress is more than 3.5 years old and still in like new condition.
I expect a life span of about 20 years for people your size.

Both brands use an individually pocketed coil unit, which provides contouring support that maintains the natural alignment of the spine.
The pocketed coils all move independently from one another, which greatly reduces motion transfer.

The Wolf mattresses are shrink wrapped, rolled, boxed, and shipped via UPS.
The Natura mattresses come with white glove delivery, which includes removal of your old mattress.

In both cases, delivery is free and there’s no sales tax.

Here are links to each brand.

Thanks, Pete
