Talalay Latex Topper over a Memory Foam Mattress.

Hi Pete,
We purchased an ecocomfort sanctuary mattress. (description from website below)
  • Pre-Crushed Omalon™ Foam
  • 7” High Density Base Foam 
  • Eco-Friendly Soy-Based Foam
The Sanctuary mattress is comprised of two basic high density foams. First, Omalon, which is a pre-crushed foam used for support. There is 3 1/2 inches of Omalon used in the pillow top of this set, allowing a contoured fit, helping to reduce pressure points. It’s overall feature is in the strength of the foam. People who prefer a more supportive or firm comfort would benefit most from the Sanctuary design. The second foam used in this set is a 2.2lb High Density Support Base. Comprised of Soy, It is environmentally friendly.

We slept on it comfortably for a year, then we started having aches and pains.  We added a 2 inch memory foam topper which helped for several months, then same issues. The mattress looks brand new, no signs of breakdown or sagging. 

We now sleep on an old spring mattress with an old 1.5 memory foam topper in the guest bedroom.  (Mattress does not have a tag). This has been comfortable for about a year, but the desire is to move back into our old bedroom.  

As I'm sure you've heard before, we have two mattresses costing close to $2000 each. We are hesitant to purchase again, making the same mistake. The previous mattress was softer. 

From your website I see that you regularly recommend the talalay topper. I just didn't know if this would help with the current Foam mattress. From what I have told you, do you think this would help or should we pursue a new mattress?

The diabolical thing about memory foam is that it loses its support and comfort...something you can feel while in bed...but returns to its original shape when you get out of bed.
This means that it's pure junk to use and you will never prevail in a warranty claim.
Flip the mattress over and add 2" of soft Talalay latex.
The underside of the mattress will provide firmer support and the latex topper will provide comfort that lasts.
Latex foam rubber has been the best upholstery material for nearly 100 years.
Memory foam is the worst thing ever invented for use in or on a mattress.
