Simmons Beautyrest Great Lakes Cove Luxury Firm Mattress and Soft Latex Topper.

Hi Pete,
You know how all these mattresses come with a comfort number
Is there any difference between the Simmons Beautyrest Great Lakes Cove and Sandy Springs luxury firm mattresses?
What is the comfort number of these mattresses?
Do I need a latex topper?
Thanks, Kim

Hi Kim,
You are misinformed....probably due to assuming that the comfort numbers you see, are assigned by the industry.
There is no industry standard for those comfort numbers. They are made up by the people writing them.
There are 10 numbers...and 12,000 mattresses. You could, easily, find the same mattress on different sites, with different numbers.

Go by that, and you'll get confused and make a mistake. My advice to you is to forget about them.
Simmons makes several models that it designates as "Luxury Firm".
They are all different from one another, although similar.
The Sandy Springs has a softer feel than the Great Lakes Cove, due to having more memory foam in it.
We recommend buying the lesser expensive and firmer feeling Great Lakes Cove and adding an EverEden 2" Soft Talalay Latex Topper to it.
More memory foam equals a shorter lifespan and poor value.
Here are links to that mattress and the latex toppers:

Soften the surface of a too firm mattress. Insulate yourself from the memory foam in your mattress to Sleep Cool. Extend the comfort life of your mattress.
