Hello Peter,
I was hoping to get your expert advice on which mattresses might be good for me and my partner.  
Here are a few things to help you get a sense of us and our needs:

--We are in our 30s and generally healthy.
--I'm 5 ft 7 in 120 pounds, he's 5 ft 10 in 200 pounds.

Hi Ali,
A mattress with an individually pocketed coil unit will contour to the shape of your body and maintain the natural alignment of your spine.
This, alone, will solve all of your back problems. It will, also, greatly reduce motion transfer.
The mattress has to be strong enough to hold a 200 Lb. man, while being soft enough at the surface to relieve his hip pain.

The problem with most of today's mattresses, including all of the name brands, is the memory foam upholstery...which doesn't hold up worth a darn.
Memory foam is used to sell more mattresses, more frequently, to the same people.
So, if you want what you want and you also want it to last long enough to get your money's worth, avoid mattresses made with memory foam.
