Tempurpedic Memory Foam Mattress is causing pain.

Malcolm writes:

Hi Pete,
Like so many of the other people who have written to you, we purchased a Tempurepedic memory foam mattress, to our regret.
According to all the advertising, testimonials and sales pitches, we thought we were buying the mattress of our dreams.
But, as I've seen you mention on your blog posts, it became our nightmare instead.
At first, and through to the end of our exchange  period, it was fine. Then, we started sinking in and waking in pain.

There are two things I want to know.
How can I fix this?
And how, in the name of all that's good and right, do these lying bastards continue to get away with selling this garbage the way they do?
They promise you a dream mattress and you end up with a piece of junk. Where do all their rave reviews come from?

The answer to my first question, I got from reading your blog...add a latex topper.
Which one and do I need to flip the mattress first?
The 2nd question was, more or less, rhetorical.

I await your response.
Thanks, Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,
In response to your 2nd question....nobody is policing this industry.
The reviews they have are from new Tempurpedic owners, or, they make them up.
It doesn't take long before a happy Tempurpedic customer becomes an unhappy one. So, you have to solicit a testimonial early on.

I've had people write to me about the extreme pain memory foam causes and others who are seriously affected by the chemical off gassing.
Many have threatened to take legal action. I'm afraid, that's what it will take to affect a change in this industry.
For those who wish to pursue satisfaction through the courts, I have offered to help in any way I can.
As of now, no one has taken it any further than simply airing their complaints.

The answer to your first question:
Add an EverEden Pure, All Natural, 2' Soft Talalay Latex Topper to the flip side of your Tempurpedic mattress.
This has been done countless times over the years and with great success.
When you flip the mattress, the memory foam goes to the down side and the high density polyurethane foam goes to the top.
Poly foam is more dense and much better support than memory foam.
Adding the soft latex topper provides the surface softness needed to sleep deeply.
Together, you have all the support, comfort and longevity you thought you were buying to begin with.
Here is a link to that latex topper.

Soften the surface of a too firm mattress. Insulate yourself from the memory foam in your mattress to Sleep Cool. Extend the comfort life of your mattress.

Delivery is free and there's no sales tax.

ALSO IMPORTANT:
I suggest using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will greatly extend the life and loft of the upholstery materials inside. Ours sleep cool and make NO Noise.
