All-Natural Talalay Latex Mattress topper to Relieve Shoulder Pain.

Hello Peter,
Thank you for all of your insight and instruction. 
I am writing in behalf of a close friend. She has been in some car accidents and experiences shoulder pain when she sleeps. 
She is a side sleeper and has tried both a pillow-top and memory foam - being very disappointed with both. 
She now has a Sealy Posturpedic Cushion Firm with just an "egg crate" style topper that does not provide quite enough cushioning. 
Another issue is that she tends to "sink" down into the bed in the hips region. I am concerned that the springs may be weakened there.
Being familiar with your blog, and knowing that she cannot afford a new bed now.
I recommended that she purchase a 2 inch soft Talalay latex foam topper. 
(In a few years, she can purchase an all-latex bed). Do you feel that this is the best solution for her right now? 
Also, we are not sure if she would prefer the "medium" or "soft" Talalay.

Hi Justin,
A latex topper is the only thing that will work. 
Memory foam, egg crate padding and pillowtop mattresses lose their shape and comfort much too easily.
A latex topper will last for many years.

Body weight is a factor.
If your friend is petite, (in the 100, or so, pound range), then the 3" soft is what she'll need.
