I currently have a Stearns and Foster firm mattress.  
It is only a few years old but is sagging and causing back pain.

Hi John,
Commercially made, name brand mattresses have declined in quality over the past 15 years. That's when they went from being two sided to being made only one sided.
Over these past 10 years, they've added more and more memory foam.
Memory foam designed to make a mattress feel comfortable enough to sell.

I suggest using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
