Soft Latex Topper to Relieve Shoulder Pain from a Too Firm Mattress.

Hi Pete,
I sleep on my side. For the last month or so wake up with shoulder pain.
I toss and turn most of the night. 
I prefer firm for my back but not too much pressure on my shoulders. 
The more research I do, the more I am confused.  Pillow top? Plush? Euro? Which is firm/soft? My wife can sleep on any type mattress except the one I keep moving in.  
Other than being too firm, the mattress we have is in good shape.

Hi Louis,
I have good news for you...in that the fix you seek won't cost you very much.
The firm mattress you have is what your back needs. 
If you go with a softer mattress, you compound your problem with back pain.
The padding in the softer mattress will relieve you shoulder pain, but for only a short while. 
Once the poly and memory foams compress, the shoulder pain will return.

A permanent solution is to add a 2" layer of soft Talalay Latex to the mattress you have. 
Your back will still have the support it needs.
And, the latex topper will relieve all of your pressure points, relax your muscles and provide both of you with a deeper, more restful sleep. 
Latex lasts a very long time.
My wife and I use the same latex topper at home. It's several years old and still like new...with each of us in the 220 pound range.
You pay a lot less for the latex mattress topper and realize a much better, long term result.
