Hi Pete,
Hi Pete,
I'm looking to buy a new Sealy Posturepedic queen mattress.
What rating do you give it?
I have used the same Sealy Posturepedic mattress for over 30 yrs.

I like the firm feel it has, and want my new mattress to be firm.
Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,
It's a darn good thing you checked first.
30 years ago, it was impossible to buy a bad Sealy Posturepedic mattress.
Today, it's equally as difficult to buy a good one.
Your mattress has NO Memory Foam in it...which is why it held up so well for so long.
Tempurpedic bought Sealy in 2013 and everything they make is loaded with memory foam.
Memory foam off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it's made....chemicals like formaldehyde and benzene.
Besides being a health hazard, memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
What's worse, when you get off of the mattress, the memory foam returns, so that you are highly unlikely to prevail in a warranty claim.
You can read a plethora of complaints about memory foam on this blog site:

Also, you mattress is two sided and flippable. Today's Sealy Posturepedic mattresses are one sided.
In short, your faith in them is based on a mattress that was made at a time when Sealy's focus was on quality. Today, their focus is on profit...quality be damned.
In other words, had you bought that mattress, you'd be sorely disappoinyted within a year's time.
Let me redirect you.
We carry a two sided mattress that uses the same coil unit and the same upholstery materials that were used in your 30 year old Sealy Posturepedic.
That would be The Tulah Firm model...shown here:
Old Fashioned made Two Sided Mattress that you can flip. Strong coil unit and NO Memory Foam. Durable for Plus Sized People. Works with Adjustable Bed Bases.

I suggest using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will greatly extend the life and loft of the upholstery materials inside. Ours sleep cool and make NO Noise.
