We have a Stearns and Foster Cataloia Collection Bellesguard Firm Mattress.
One of your posts back in 2007 (our tag states manufactured in 7/2007), talks about levels of firmness and this one being a 2, and another bed.
The Renova Park as a level 7 firm.
Which is more firm, the lower # or the higher #?
Also, another site said the specs of the Bellesguard firm was that the mattress was 12.5 inches thick.
I measured ours at right about 10" thick. ???
Thanks for any thoughts.
Mike
Hi Mike,
The World Wide Web is full of information...some good, some bad, some right, some wrong...evidenced by the thickness of the mattress difference.
It’s important to be discerning in what you believe.
There is no industry standard for firmness/plushness levels.
What you read about them are made up by the person who wrote it.
Another person’s idea of that, for the same mattress, could easily differ.
That said, the norm is...the lower the number, the firmer the feel.
Today, S&F is owed by Tempurpedic...everything they make is loaded with memory foam. That wasn’t the case in 2007.
If you’re buying a S&F mattress now, assuming that today’s quality is the same as it was in 2007, it isn’t...and you’ll be disappointed.
