Old Fashion Two Sided Flippable Mattresses are Comfortable and Durable.

Hi Pete, 
WOW, I love this site. 
I've been looking for a bed for two weeks, now. I'm hot natured, want something soft, am a side sleeper and  205 lbs. I'm looking at two Sealy Posturepedic pillowtops. 
First, do I need to look for a pillowtop,  eurotop, or no top. 
Second, what can we get that would be soft, and yet  not leave body impressions. 
And third, is a cashmere top really that much better. I don't want to spend more than about $1400 or so. 
Right  now we have a Lady Englander--Maxim Firm Plus, which we've had 21 years.
We want comfort, but probably will not be buying another mattress for another twenty years.

Hi Parker,
You are at a disadvantage. You are assuming that because your old mattress lasted 20 years, that a new mattress will do the same.
I guess you hadn't noticed that yours is a flippable double sided mattress, while the new mattresses you're considering are only one sided...half the mattress, compared to yours.
The pillowtops part of today's mattresses wears out very quickly...not a good choice if your looking to avoid body impressions.
Also, every Posturepedic has memory foam in it, now that Tempurpedic owns Sealy. 
Your old mattress has none. Memory foam will cause you to sleep hotter....and I know that is something you'll want to avoid.
However, that is more easily said than done. All name brand mattresses, today, have memory foam in them.
Memory foam has a myriad of other problems associated with it. It's chemical make-up is toxic and poses a health risk. 
It wears our quickly....and, it's seductively comfortable...in the showroom.
