Simmons Beautyrest Black Calista Extra Firm mattress.

Hi Pete,
I bought the full size Simmons Beautyrest Black Calista Extra Firm mattress, last year, and we have been enjoying it very much. 
It has good support, with a slight plush feeling, which is good.
Several months ago, I bought a second identical mattress for our other bedroom, and the top is very hard, there is none of that soft layer on the top. 
When delivered, I pointed it out to the delivery guy and he said it's possible that the cold weather does that to the stuff the mattress is made of.
He said I should give it a couple of weeks or so. Well, we've gone past the Summer and nothing has changed. 
One is very comfortable, and the other is very hard. Is it possible that this is a mistake from the Simmons manufacturer? 
What do you suggest?

Hi Esther,
That sort of mistake happens at every factory, from time to time. With an hour for lunch and shift changes, the wrong label can easily get on the wrong mattress. 
I've had that happen with floor samples sent to my store.
I can't say that I know which of your mattresses is correctly made. It's obvious that one is not.
There is a way to soften the surface of the one that is too firm.
Add a 2" soft Talalay latex topper and your problems will be over.
