A Mattress for a 280 Pound Man. Tempurpedic not working.

Hi Pete,
What would you recommend for 280 pound man, mostly a back sleeper, with constant low back problems and some shoulder pain? 
I am 200 pounds and a side sleeper and am constantly hot.
My Husband didn't like the Sleep Number mattress, the adjustable bed from Costco, or the Tempurpedic. 
But we're back with the just the Tempurpedic now. 
We tried topping it with a topper from Costco, then a cooling one from Macy's, but he didn't like either one of those. 
So now we have it on a platform bed. We like the platform bed but want to try yet again another mattress.

Hi Kathy,
Memory foam is a terrible product...all kinds of things wrong with it, besides sleeping hot.
The saving grace is that the memory foam is only on the top.
A core of firm poly foam supports it. I say, "saving grace" because you may be able to take advantage of that without having to spring for a new mattress.
Flip your mattress over. 
If you find it to be too firm on that side, add a 2" Soft Vytex Dunlop Latex topper for comfort that is unmatched by memory foam...lasts a very long time...sleeps cool and is all natural.
To support people of your size, I would recommend a firm mattress with a latex topper.
You might as well start with the topper, as you may not need a new mattress.
If later, you feel you need a new mattress, you'll be able to use the latex topper with it.
I have had many customers with your same problem. Most have been able to put of buying a new mattress for 5 years, doing this first.
