Talalay Latex topper Over a Dunlop Latex Mattress.

Lisa writes:

Hi Peter,
My husband and I have recently purchased a 100% latex mattress, composed of 6" of firm Dunlop (23-27 ILD) and 3 in. of medium Dunlop on top (19-24 ILD).
We are finding it a little too firm and are considering purchasing one of your 2" Talalay topper rather than exchange for their softer Dunlop.
That would be 11" total latex. Do you think that would work?
We both sleep mostly on our sides and still are having shoulder discomfort. I am 5'7" 128 lbs and he is 5' 11" 170 lbs, so not overweight. (
We bought the all latex using a doctor's perscription to avoid the fire retardant chemicals on today's new mattresses.
I am really hoping your topper would work on what we have because it sounds heavenly!
I have seen other latex retailers layer Talalay over Dunlop, too.
Thanks so much, Lisa

Hi Lisa,
A 2" soft Talalay Latex Topper will do what you want...give you the surface comfort you are now lacking.
Besides having a lower ILD, Talalay isn't as dense as Dunlop.
2" is usually enough. 3" will produce a greater depth of softness.
Most people will find the 3" to be too soft. The 3" works best with people who are slender, like yourselves.
It really depends on your perception of how much extra softness you think you'll need.
Given that your mattress is only "A little too firm", stick with the EverEden 2" Soft Talalay Topper...shown here:
