Simmons Beautyrest Mattress at the LaQuinta Hotel.

Hi Pete, 
We are currently staying at a LaQuinta with a Simmons Beautyrest pillowtop mattress. That my husband is actually SLEEPING is something of a miracle. 
He's had multiple back surgeries with enough titanium holding his back together to build an F-16. 
He falls asleep looking at this bed. I have stayed at Westin's, and Marriot's and also find their beds very comfortable - but then I'm not the one with the back issues. 
Oh and he recently had additional surgery to "pin" his hips up off the Sciatica. So finding a position is difficult enough much less a mattress. 
This, as I said is a Beautyrest Pillowtop and I assume it is fairly firm. Might you have suggestions as to the best bed for his needs? 
Since he has never slept in the others I'm not sure if this or one of those would be better. 
I've never seen him able to be completely crashed almost before his head hits the pillow.
So, we want to get the mattress that provide the best sleep without the cost issue keeping us up at night!

Hi Louise,
The Simmons Beautyrest is so comfortable because of the independent movement of the coils.
This does more to maintain the natural alignment of the spine than any other type of innerspring mattress on the market. 
Many hotels, including LaQuinta, use a low end Beautyrest. The pillowtop is for comfort, but the low end models and the pillowtops don't last very long.
That's not such a big deal at a hotel, where the rooms are filled on a rotating basis.
At home, where the mattress is used every night, the short life of that mattress translates into frequent replacing and a much high cost to you.
For two adults to use every night, we recommend the Platinum Beautyrest Sandy Springs, which has a much higher coil count.
We recommend that in the luxury firm model and a 2" Soft Talalay Latex Topper, in lieu of a pillowtop.
The latex topper provides better and longer lasting comfort than the pillowtop. 
The latex topper is far more resilient and will absorb much of your body weight, which adds, greatly, to the longevity of the mattress.
This sleep system combination ends up costing you a lot less over the years.
