I have the Simmons Beautyrest Dwyer Ultra Plush Super Pillowtop and love it, but it is old and I am moving to a new place and want to start fresh.
I have no idea what this will compare to now. I can't find it anywhere online. I'm pretty sure it is innerspring.

The individually pocketed coil unit...the thing that makes a Beautyrest so comfortable...is basically unchanged since it was introduced in the 1920s.
Over the last 10 - 15 years, the upholstery part has changed dramatically.
If you look on line at reviews for Simmons Beautyrest, they're horrible.
The reason for this is due to all the plush pillowtop models being sold.
Yours held up so well because it contains no memory foam.
Today's Beautyrests are nothing but memory foam....thee worst upholstery material ever invented.
Memory foam is specifically designed to be comfortable enough to make the sale, but poor enough in quality that you end up replacing it in a couple of years.
Memory foam is the only upholstery material that is temperature sensitive....meaning that as it warms from your body's heat, it softens and you sink into it.
Memory foam isn't very resilient. So, after a year or two of this nightly softening, it's pretty well shot.
The diabolical thing about memory foam, is that it returns to its original shape when you get off of the mattress.
It never shows a sustained impression deep enough for you to prevail in a warranty claim. So, you end up replacing it frequently.
In order to get what you want and have it last a good long time, start with a Luxury Firm Simmons Beautyrest model...without a pillowtop.
The firmer models use a heavier gauge wire for the coils than the plush models.
Then, add a 2" Soft Talalay Latex topper in lieu of the pillowtop.
Latex is and has been thee best upholstery material for the last 100 years.
Together, they will closely mimic what you have...in support, comfort and durability.
