Macy's sold me a Vitagenic mattress. After only 2 years the coils are giving too much and sleeping with my fiancé is like rolling downhill.
We are not heavy people, 125 and 160 pounds. Back aches are beginning from it as well.
They sent out an evaluator, who simple took measurements of the mattress and never even sat on it nor asked us to explain the problem.
Finally they told me it was not defective and would not honor any warranty to replace this with another mattress.
Do I have an alternative to get it evaluated? What to do? Obviously I will not buy this mattress again.

It's not just that mattress. You didn't get the only defective mattress from among a lot of good ones.
What you've experienced is an industry that has turned on the consumer.
What you've witnessed is the diabolical nature of memory foam.
Memory foam is used by many manufacturer's to intentionally have happen, what has happened to you.
The coils are not, likely, the problem. It's the memory foam....purposefully designed to last only a year or two.
Memory foam is temperature sensitive....the only temperature sensitive upholstery material on the market.
It softens as it warms from your body heat.
As it softens, you sink into it.
Memory foam isn't very resilient to begin with, so after a relatively short while, you sink through it.
The criteria for determining a defect has always been, to measure the sustained impression in the mattress...with no one on it.
Memory foam returns to its original shape when you get off the mattress...or, close enough to it, that you will never prevail in a warranty claim.
This is done by design.
Working against you are: all the major brands and plenty of off brands...all loaded with memory foam.
And most retail stores, that display a sea of mattresses, from many brands...all loaded with memory foam.
The industry and the retailers are experiencing a boon, selling more mattresses to the same people more frequently...and, no longer exchanging them under the terms of the warranty.
So, the old habit of going to a store to try mattresses, buying the one that felt the best to you, is no longer a valid way to shop...since the memory foam is intentionally made to deceive.
Today, you have to shop specifications and look for high quality components in the mattress to insure support, comfort and longevity.
And, most importantly, avoid memory foam...which has proven itself to be the absolute worst upholstery material ever invented.
BTW, this is contrary to what you'll hear from salespeople in stores. They talk about that junk as if it were the best thing since sliced bread.
They do so for the money. Memory foam is where the money is. Nothing in their sales pitches have anything to do with your best interest.
In short, you've been had. And, you are now where they want you...having to buy a new mattress only two years later.
You can get off of this merry-go-round by not shopping in stores and staying away from memory foam.
