Simmons Beautyrest Westbury Recharge Plush Hotel Mattress.

Hi Pete,
We recently stayed at an Opal Hotel in Florida and absolutely loved the bed.
It’s taken several weeks but someone was finally able to track down the mattress and now (after looking at your site) i’m wondering if this is a good choice.
I was told that it’s called the Simmons Beautyrest Westbury Recharge Plush, and that it would need to be made for me.
Can you tell me if this is a decent mattress, especially for long term? We don’t tend to replace them very often.

It's a good thing you stopped to ask.
Simmons Beautyrests are among the most popular brands. The pocketed coil unit has always provided the most comfortable support.
With each coil moving independently from the next, it contours to the body and maintains the natural alignment of the spine.

However, if you look at reviews for Simmons Beautyrest, on line, they're horrible.
The reason for this, is due to the way they are normally purchased....with plush and plush pillowtop models being the most comfortable and most popular.
What makes a Simmons "Plush", is when they use a much thinner gauge wire for the coils...creating a greater depth of softness. 
The pillowtops are filled with poly and memory foams, which begin to compress within a month, or so, after delivery.
A plush pillowtop Beautyrest will rarely last more than a year or two.

Which brings us to hotels.
The last time my wife and I took a road trip was to visit family over the Christmas holiday...who happen to be scattered all over the country.
We, routinely, stay at hotels that have Beautyrest mattresses.
The funny thing is how they all seem to vary a little in the over-all feel.
Anyway, hotel mattresses aren't typically used every night. Rooms are filled on a rotating basis and a mattress might see use 3-4 times a week...on average.

Hotels concern themselves with comfort...and not durability. Even with this part time use, they are replaced every few years.
For home use, durability is, or should be, a major concern...along with comfort and support.

Over the years, I've fielded objections to having to buy a latex topper to go with a new mattress...citing that it shouldn't be necessary.
Well, if it's a Simmons Beautyrest you want, the latex topper is absolutely necessary if you are to get your money's worth out of it.

However, we do have an alternative solution, where a separate latex topper is not necessary.
From Natura of Canada, their Greenspring mattresses use the same type of pocketed coil unit as Simmons.
The differences are: 1) A high coil count than the World Class. 2) The coils are made of Double Tempered Steel....while the Simmons coils are not tempered. & 3) The upholstery is natural Talalay Latex.
The Natura Greenspring mattresses have ZERO memory foam in them, which is part of the reason why you need a latex topper with a Simmons.

My wife and I sleep on a Natura Greenspring. We are larger people, approx 225 lbs. each. 
Consider your body weight when making a choice. At average body weight, the Beautyrest/Topper combo is softer and usually a better choice for comfort.
The Natura Greenspring has a more substantial feel...not a plush...better suited to heavier people.

I would imagine that the woman who has been helping me only wanted to get me the style name and doesn't even know about the model, make up or otherwise.
Curious why you recommend the santorini over the others? Are these available to order through your site and, if so, how does tax and delivery work? 
Any warranty? In home set up and take away of the old? What if we hate it?

Santorini is a model name. It's the starting model in the World Class Series.
The model name is different at every store, even though the mattresses are the same.
This is purposefully done to make shopping difficult.

Delivery is free. That's a white glove delivery that includes set up and removal of the old set.
And, there is no sales tax.

Hate it?! That doesn't happen...ever.

25 years ago, you couldn't buy a bad bed.
Even 15 years ago, it would have been difficult.
Today, it's hard to buy a good one.

Compare the specifications. I sent you the specs for the Santorini.
