Hi Pete,
I am buying a Dunlop latex topper for a relative and I am not sure what comfort level to purchase.
I purchased a Dunlop latex topper on 07-04 2014.
The relative is 5'6" and weighs about 230 lbs. The queen size mattress they have is a Serta memory foam and is kinda firm.
They report that they have trouble getting out of bed and that they have a terrible backache when they get out of the bed.
Could you please tell which topper comfort I should order for them.
I love my topper!
THANK YOU, Marcia

Hi Marcia,
What we find works well, is adding a latex topper to the flip side of a memory foam mattress.
The memory foam is worthless. It's usually supported by several inches of high density polyurethane foam.
The poly foam makes for much better support. So flipping the mattress puts the memory foam side down and the poly foam side up.
The poly foam is better support for your back, but usually too firm to sleep on comfortably.
That's were the latex topper comes in.
My question is your choice of Dunlop over Talalay.
Both are available soft, which is what you should choose...and only the 2" model, either way.
Dunlop is a bit more dense than Talalay. And Talalay is what we choose for the greatest degree of surface comfort.
I'll recommend the 2" soft Dunlop to people who are heavy...but 230 lbs. does not qualify as being heavy enough for me to make that recommendation.
At that weight, the 2" soft Talalay is what I would choose.
