Memory Foam vs. Latex mattress for a small child.

Hello Peter,
I am looking for a recommendation on a mattress for my 3 yr old daughter. I am looking for a twin mattress but I am not sure which route to go, inner spring w/ memory foam or all memory foam.  
My top priority is a mattress that will support the natural alignment of her growing body.  She is only 30 lbs so I am having a hard time finding anything that would contour to her body.  
Please let me know what you suggest.

Hi Jennifer,
The people who promote memory foam do such a good job of it, that people buy it blindly.
They do so without question, even though it is, in fact, the worst material for use as a mattress.
Not only does it not perform well, it's terrible support for your spine. Worst of all, it off gasses the toxic chemicals, from which it's made.
Knowing this, you would not want to expose yourself or your child to it.
Consider an all natural, chemical free latex mattress. Latex is not only safe, but a much better mattress for comfort and durability. 
A latex mattress will maintain your child's proper spinal alignment for her entire childhood. There is no better kind of mattress to grow up on.
It's what our grandson is growing up on. Specifically, the Ever-Eden 6" all latex model.
Latex lasts so long, that you will still have it when she goes off to college. You might even want to send it with her. I hear that college dorm mattresses aren't all that good.
Here is a link to the least expensive of the high quality, all natural latex mattresses on the market. The 6" model is adequate. The 8" is more comfortable.
