Question on a Beautyrest Hotel Mattress for Back Pain.

However, during a one week stay, last May, at Sanibel/Captiva's South Seas Resort (Florida), I had no back pain. However, on the first night after returning home. back was severe again. 
The tag on the South Seas mattress read: Beautyrest, by Simmons Hospitality, Bryson - HealthSmart, Firm. There is also a SF467 and the number 82136B at the bottom of the tag.
Clearly, this is the mattress I need!  But your website reveals the perils of buying one that may only last a short time. 
Since my back issues may require something different from mattresses you have recommended for other readers, I hesitate to select a new mattress from those website exchanges. 
It seems more sensible, knowing that the South Seas mattress I described above mitigated my back pain, to ask you to recommend a Beautyrest model that most closely duplicates the comfort of that one. 
I would also like your thoughts on whether I should buy a full latex  model. And I wonder why you don't have one, since you indicate in your website that you use an inner spring model. 
It is unlikely that I would let the high price of a latex dissuade me if it is what I really need. I also wonder if I'd be better off with a recliner.

Let's talk, first, about what won't work for you, since it's part of your inquiry.
And that would be an all latex mattress.
Even though latex is the best of the foams...much more resilient than any of the other foams, it tends to last for decades.
And while it doesn't easily flatten out, like the other foams, it's still an all foam mattress.
And what an all foam mattress doesn't do, is push up against your back.
For anyone with disc regaled back problems, this will just makes matters worse.
You need coils that push up against your body, to help keep your spine from sagging.

The Simmons Beautyrest does an excellent job of supporting your spine without creating pressure points. 
The Beautyrests have a pocketed coil unit, where each coil moves separately from the next.

When shopping for a Beautyrest, you'll notice that the model names for them are different at every store.
There are several different series within the Beautyrest line.
The one you encountered at the hotel, is one of their low end models...which is ok for the more occasionally use it will get there. 
Hotel rooms are filled on a rotating basis and may be used 3-4 times a week, on average.
To support the weight of an adult on an every night basis, you need to start with something from their World Class Series, which has hundreds more coils than that low end model.
"Firm" is an excellent choice for a man with a back that has experienced extensive damage.
