Hi Sabby,
There's a lot more to a mattress than the number of coils.
There's the type and size of the coils, and the tempering of the steel.
Simmons coils are not made of tempered steel.
More importantly, is the upholstery material. Most commonly used is memory foam, polyurethane foam and latex foam. Latex is the best and has been for the last 100 years.
Poly foam is next best and memory foam is just plain bad.
What you find in stores are mattresses with lots and lots of memory foam.
Simmons uses memory foam.
Memory foam performs poorly, which is why we recommend using a latex mattress topper with every Simmons Beautyrest we offer.
Also, memory foam is a chemical based product, and it off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it's made. Besides being a lousy product, it's also a health hazard.
However, that off gassing doesn't seem to be a problem with the next generation memory foam that Simmons uses.
If you want the best you can get for your money, you won't find it in stores.
The Wolf Adrian & Adara mattresses are upholstered with all natural latex. They contain zero memory foam. The coils are double tempered.
I realize it requires a leap of faith, buying sight unseen, but if you want quality and value for your money, there is no better choice.
These mattresses are an excellent choice for children and guest rooms.
