Much has changed in 19 years.
The stated size of a Cal. King is 72" x 84".
And, like framing lumber that was once 2" x 4", and is now 1.5" x 3.5", so too, are mattresses cut smaller than their stated size.
You may have also noticed that your new mattress has only one usable side, while your 19 year old mattress was 2 sided.
Also, you might want to brace yourself for the life span of your new mattress. Despite the inflated length of warranty, your new mattress is likely to last only a few years.
If you would like to make your old mattress comfortable, add a 2" soft all natural Talalay Latex topper.
