Hi Pete,
My mattress is too firm, causing me sciatica pain.
I need a topper to soften the surface, but I'm allergic to latex. What else can I use?
Thank you for any information.

Hi SJ,
The protein in the sap from the rubber tree is the allergen....which remains present with latex gloves and bandages.
Latex is a topical allergy, meaning you have to be touching it to react to it...which is why the gloves and bandages are a problem.
When latex foam is made, it goes through a 5 stage washing that removes almost all of the protein, rendering it hypo-allergenic.
Not only that, but the latex toppers come with a cover, so that you are not touching the latex.
This is true of all latex foam.
That said, there is a newer process that removes all of the protein, where the latex foam is now allergen free.
This would be the Vytex latex, which we carry.
The most popular is 2" of soft latex for your needs. Nothing else does nearly as good a job and for nearly as long as latex lasts.
It's, simply, the best upholstery material available...and has been for the past 100 years.
Here is a link to our latex toppers. Again, 2" of the soft Vytex Dunlop, and you'll have what you need without worry of an allergic reaction.
