A Mattress for Herniated Disc.

Wilson writes:

Hi Pete,
I am a back sleeper, 6'1" 198 lbs. I am recovering from a pinched nerve/herniated disc in the T6-7. I am interested in best KING mattress for current condition. Currently, I am unable to sleep beyond 2 hours on back without middle back pain. I have tried the Stearns & Foster Bellluno hybrid & Serta Optium Radiance
Thanks, Wilson

Hi Wilson,
The one product that will cause you increased pain, is memory foam. Serta and S&F use plenty of it.
You are not heavy for your height. But, you will still need firm support for the herniated disc. You will also require something that contours a bit, to relieve the pinched nerve.
The surface comfort layer must be latex, if you have any hope of a successful purchase. Latex is far more resilient than the memory and poly foams used in most mattresses.
Start with a firm World Class Simmons Beautyrest mattress. Add to that a 2" soft or medium all natural Talalay latex mattress topper.
The combination will provide you long lasting comfort and support that will maintain the natural alignment of your spine.
The mattress...the Santorini in firm. Shown Here:
