Back Pain, Stearns & Foster Tuscan Summer Villa Ultra Plush Latex Mattress.

Hi Pete,
I purchased the Stearns & Foster Tuscan Summer Villa Ultra Plush Latex Mattress, a few years ago. 
I have a lower back disc problem. The salesman told me this would be a good choice for that. The mattress is killing my back. 
I also feel the heat under my body. The salesman said latex doesn't heat up. Was he simply mistaken or was he lying to make the sale?
What can I do with this mattress that I spent more that $2000 for?

Hi Alex,
Frankly, I don't know if he was lying or simply didn't know what he was talking about.
Today's salespeople are trained on how to close the sale, but are given very little information about the products they have.
First off, latex does sleep cool. Your mattress has a latex core and another latex layer, but is topped with polyurethane foam...which does not sleep cool.
Secondly, an ultra plush mattress is, absolutely, the wrong comfort level from anyone with disc problems. 
The pressure on your spine from your body weight sinking into that ultra plush mattress will only make matters worse...something you now have learned the hard way.
But take heart, all is not lost.
Your mattress is built using a firm latex core. Simply flip the mattress over and you will have a firm sleeping surface that your back will enjoy.
In order to have a nice comfortable sleeping surface that won;t sleep hot and not compress, add a 2" soft Talalay Latex Mattress topper.
You will have saved your investment and will be good to go for a good number of years to come.
