Simmons Beautyrest Mattresses & Memory Foam.

Hi Maggi,
First, the coil system of the Simmons Beautyrest is an important support system.
The individually pocketed coils move independently from one another, providing contouring support that maintains the natural alignment of your spine.
And while there are other brands that use a pocketed coil system, none of the others have a coil that is taller than the pocket. Simmons coils are 9" tall, compressed into a 7" pocket.
This provides valuable "push back" support. Also, only the pockets in the Simmons mattresses are heat sealed in the center, which allows each coil to move independently from one another.
The others are sealed at the top and bottom, and do not truly move independently.

Also, the memory foam used in the Simmons is a bit different than regular memory foam.
You've seen the commercials for memory foam, where a hand is pressed into the foam...the hand is then removed...and a residual hand print lingers in the foam.
When you do the same thing to Simmons next generation memory foam, the foam returns immediately.
The memory foam in the Simmons is far more resilient and a lot less temperature sensitive than regular memory foam.

The Simmons memory foam was introduced a few years ago. 
Not one to take things at face value...especially in this business...my wife and I ordered a Simmons Beautyrest for ourselves.
When it arrived, it had no odor and no ill effects from any off-gassing were detected. We added a latex topper to it, and 3 + years later, everything is still in like new condition.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that the Simmons memory foam is safe...and, I know it wouldn't wear all that well without a latex topper...but, I will say that it isn't nearly as bad as regular memory foam. The importance of the coil unit makes it among the best of the one sided name brand mattresses on today's market.
