Hi Pete,
Stearns & Foster was purchased by Tempurpedic in 2013. In January of 2014, the new S&F line was introduced. Each model now has lots of memory foam.
Memory foam is the worst material ever invented for use in a mattress. It's what causes the initial comfort to give out so easily and quickly.
Memory foam is made from a chemical soup and off-gasses the toxic chemicals from which it's made.
But the really diabolical part is that it will return when you get off of the mattress, leaving you with a mattress that has lost its support & comfort and won't show a sustained impression deep enough to prevail in a warranty claim.
Because of all this, we no longer recommend S&F products to anyone.

    It's been a bummer for me, as well. S&F used to make a superior quality product and had several models with no memory foam that I could recommend with confidence.

    We had used them as our primary "go to" line for many years.
